Victoria Magbilang is a graphic designer who resides in Daly City. In addition to her role as a creative professional, she has been advocating for the arts in her community for many years, beginning with her volunteerism at her children’s elementary school in creating and advising a student Poster Club, chairing their Talent Show, and, more recently, through her position as President of the Parent Teacher Student Association at Jefferson High School. She is the Executive Director of the Daly City Public Library Associates (DCPLA), which will be launching the annual Daly City Art & Lit Fest in Fall 2022, and is the founding Program Director for DCPLA’s Daly City Youth Poet Laureate Program, the first program of its type in San Mateo County. Along with her professional projects, Victoria is in the process of realizing her vision to put a mural at Top of the Hill, working with Art Club students from Jefferson High School, the Bay Area Mural Program, and Dragonfly Community Arts.
Dedicated to providing arts opportunities and exposure throughout her community, Victoria sees her appointment to the San Mateo Arts Commission as a chance to connect with a larger art community, with the goal of expanding avenues for creative expression in her own.
